Robie Lester, who we all know as "Karen" from "The Story and Song from The Haunted Mansion" LP, passed on June 14th:

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with great sorrow that I have to tell you that after a long and courageous battle, Robie passed away this past Tuesday, June 14th at 8:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank. Her passing was pain-free and peaceful.

Thank you for your love and support throughout Robie's remarkable life.

Robie was best known in our circle for the aforementioned role, although she did much work for Disneyland Records, and was featured as Ms. Gabor's singing voice in "The Aristocats." She also voiced the role of Jessica/Mrs. Claus in the Rankin Bass classic "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," among many other roles.

Robie was a wonderful woman, and shared many memories of her career and her time recording the Haunted Mansion LP with Ron Howard with DoomBuggies.com. She will be missed.

I'm so glad I have a recording of that Haunted Mansion record from my childhood. I can still hear Robie's voice saying (to Ron Howard) "Oh Mike, look at that rain come down... we'll never get home on time." She is awesome.

    Thanks for the post ste3ve.
