So quiet around here! So have you all heard about all of the things planned to celebrate Disneyland's 50th next year? What was your reaction?

Re: Opinions on the 50th celebration?
Wed, May 12, 2004 - 6:41 PMI was reading that the layout of the track isn't really going to change, but the queue will be dramatically different, the soundtrack is being changed, and there will be some new and different effects. -

Re: Opinions on the 50th celebration?
Sun, April 3, 2005 - 3:58 PMVery cool. :)
I'm feeling a bit irked at the moment, though, as it seems WDW is already putting up their "happiest celebration on earth" merchandise, banners, etc.! -

Re: Opinions on the 50th celebration?
Thu, June 23, 2005 - 2:05 PMUnfortunately, it's just another way to cash in and get people to the parks. The various "new" attractions are either duplicates of ones already existing or revamped versions of older shows. Only "Expedition Everest" seems like it's going to be a dose of the old Imagineering Touch. -

Re: Opinions on the 50th celebration?
Thu, September 1, 2005 - 4:57 PMEach of WDW's four theme parks got something for the 50th, and you're right - three of them are duplicates from another park. Magic Kingdom got Cinderellabration, a castle stage show from Tokyo Disneyland; the Disney-MGM Studios got Lights! Motors! Action!, a car stunt show from Disneyland Paris (which, to be fair, is an amazing show. This isn't something they skimped on, and it's a good addition to the Studios.); and Epcot got Soarin', which is exactly like Soarin' Over California at CA Adventure. The only new item was Lucky the Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom, and he's gone now; he was only there for the summer. He now resides in Tokyo.

Tue, September 13, 2005 - 6:05 PMWell, the interesting thing to note is that DCA has had the worst summertime attendance on record... Even with the new parade and turtle talk... -

Re: Opinions on the 50th celebration?
Mon, December 19, 2005 - 4:44 PMI was hyped to go when I was out in Cali visiting my mom, but it didn't happen. Then I found out I missed my chance to go to Club 33 because an alumni group from my university went but I didn't know. I guess I should read the mail they send me...
